A while ago, I watched the talk given by Sasha Laundy at PyCon 2015. Sasha discussed the technical mentality and how we can give or ask for technical help from others.
A nice thing she mentioned is to ask for help earlier, but only after trying to find a solution first. Don’t wait until much time is wasted trying to figure out an issue or trying multiple solution if there is someone who could help. Also, be clear in what kind of help do you need, and what you have already done in trying to solve it so that they don’t suggest solutions that you may have already tried.
